On-site CCIC Inspections in China
In most cases, to ship plastic scrap or recyclables to China, the first step is to request CCIC inspection for your goods before or during loading. Without the proper CCIC pre-inspection certification (issued after passing the inspection), the recyclables will not be allowed into China.
An exception to this is if CCIC is not present or operating in your country. In this case, you will be allowed to request an on-site CCIC inspection for when your plastic scrap or other recyclables arrive in China.
Below is a list of countries where CCIC has established offices. If your country is NOT listed below, you can request an onsite inspection in China. While this may sound like an advantage, your container will be completely unloaded at the port of entry and thoroughly inspected. If your goods do not pass inspection, the container will not be allowed into China. You are then responsible for all cost associated with shipping the container back to your country or the nearest port outside China (usually speaking, most people will re-route the container to Hong Kong or Vietnam).
